How does literature highlight the unique experiences of Black girlhood? Teacher participants will use primary sources to connect literature to historical people and events. We will also explore the Girlhood (It's Complicated) exhibit and engage with Dr. Lashon Daley, director of the National Center for Children's Literature, before her public event, "Experiences of Black Girlhood."  Reimbursement subsidies are available to support in-person workshop participation. We want to ensure that teachers have the resources to attend professional development regardless of how far they live from the History Center. Apply for funding to reimburse mileage and hotel costs. Learn more about subsidies and apply for this first-come, first-served resource.
