Learn About Your Experience: Historic Fort Snelling

New places and stories to explore!

Your 2 hour field trip gives you the opportunity to create your own unique site experience that includes so many places for you and your group to learn about the many stories that Historic Fort Snelling has to share on our 22 acres with lots of great options. There are more spaces to explore with both staff and teacher-led opportunities and activities.

Grab your Historic Fort Snelling "passport" and journey through interactive experiences and the many stories that we have to share around the historic site. Join a bucket brigade, do laundry, become part of a cannon crew, experience a one-room schoolhouse lesson, play historic games and much more!

You'll receive your passport when you arrive and don't forget to complete your journey by getting it stamped at the Visitor Center before you leave!

Reservations required.

• Plan to arrive 15 minutes early for check-in.
• Staff will greet you upon arrival and provide a brief site orientation.
• Each group leader will receive "passports" of stations and a map of the site.
• At their own pace, teachers and chaperones will guide groups between their choice of staff-led and self-guided locations.
• Self-guided locations include informational signage.
• Complete your journey and get your passport stamped at the Visitor's Center before departure.

• $8 per student
• Free bus parking
• Picnic area available

Reservations are required. There is a fee for cancellations and/or rescheduling less than 14 days before the scheduled field trip.
